Are you on a server where nobody sleeps? Have you not yet found the materials to make a bed and you're too lazy to go out and try to find them? Or do you just not want to go to sleep…

Fear not! This post is for you.

Getting started

When you first log on, you will want to do a few things before the night comes. (Keep track of Minecraft time by looking at where the sun is in the sky) The first being: collect some wood. It doesn't matter which kind of wood, just get wood. You will need 20 to 60 blocks of wood. Once you do this, you will want to craft the wood into wood planks. Once you have the planks, craft them into a crafting bench. You will then want to use the crafting bench to make sticks with your leftover wood planks, and with those sticks you will craft a set of wooden tools.

Afternoon

You are now going to want to make a little hut. It doesn't need to be that big, just three blocks high, and enough space to put your furnace and your crafting bench in (don't forget the door). Once you make this hut, go find some cobblestone and mine about ten blocks, so that you can craft multiple furnaces to cook your food faster. Make sure you also mine coal. Go find some cows and kill them for leather, and food.

The night

Go back to your house quickly before monsters spawn. Go to your crafting bench and craft some torches to place around your hut for some light, and also so that monsters don't spawn in your house. Craft as many furnaces as you can and place coal in the bottom and whatever food you collected in the top. While your food is cooking, go back to your crafting bench and craft a full set of leather armor. Put your armor on, eat your food, and you are all set to set foot into the night.
